The Museum of the American West is a not-for-profit, outdoor/indoor museum complex that educates the public by presenting the unmatched natural and cultural history of the Wind River and Sweetwater Valleys and the South Pass region of the Rocky Mountains. Located on the west side of Lander, Wyoming, the Museum features inoor exhibits about the regions' history as well as a set of buildings imitating the style of a typical Main Street in the pioneering Old West. Established in 1998, the Museum of the American West also often hosts weddings, events, and other gatherings in a large barn-like pavilion and its surrounding grounds.
